Narrated Ibn `Abbas:
(The Prophet (ﷺ) said), "Healing is in three things: A gulp of honey, cupping, and branding with fire (cauterizing)." But I forbid my followers to use (cauterization) branding with fire."
Dry Cupping: A topical oil will be applied to the skin, then a cup with tolerable suction (like a light vacuum) will be applied to the body to bring blood to the area. No incisions are made on the skin with dry cupping.
Cupping VS. Hijama
Wet Cupping: Small incisions are made on the skin, and then a tolerable suction (like a light vacuum) is applied with a cup to draw out toxic blood.
Cupping and Hijama are ancient practices used to increase blood circulation, remove toxins from the body, ease muscle pain and soreness, help relieve muscle tension and tightness, improve lymphatic drainage, and facilitate myofascial release, among other benefits.
It has been shown to help relieve headaches/migraines, constipation, and digestive issues, among other conditions, and has helped heal more serious conditions like diabetes and cancer!
They have been used for centuries all over the world to help people heal and achieve optimal health.
Recently, Cupping has gained a lot of popularity with more athletes experiencing the benefits of the practice.
For athletes, cupping can help reduce and improve inflammation and muscle pain/soreness, as well as help with common conditions like plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendonitis/tendinosis, and more.
